Michael S. Adler joined the firm in 2009 and became a Partner in January, 2015. Mr. Adler focuses his practice in all areas of employee benefits litigation. Mr. Adler assists clients in drafting, implementing and monitoring all phases of their collection policies. Mr. Adler is counsel of record in over 200 cases, primarily handling ERISA collections (in federal court as well as arbitration proceedings), including complex, multi-party alter-ego and single employer litigations. He also litigates withdrawal liability claims, including claims against controlled group members. Mr. Adler has secured multi-million dollar judgments and settlements on behalf of benefit plan clients. He has also defended ERISA benefit claim cases for ERISA plans. Prior to joining Cohen, Weiss and Simon LLP, Mr. Adler engaged in a similar practice of labor and employee benefits law in New York and the District of Columbia. Mr. Adler earned his undergraduate degree from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1999, and is a 2002 graduate of the George Washington University Law School. |
