Since February of 2022, Cohen, Weiss and Simon LLP has represented Workers United in organizing campaigns at more than a dozen Starbucks stores around the NYC metro area. Despite a widescale antiunion campaign on the part of the company (read more here and here), the Union’s election petitions have been overwhelmingly successful locally — as they have been around the country. The firm is also representing Workers United and its affiliates in pending unfair labor practice charges filed against Starbucks locally, including numerous allegations that Starbucks has fired and discriminated against employees who have engaged in union organizing.
